Notes:	Fu nu ri bao 婦女日報 started out as a subsection of Dian sheng ri bao 電聲日報. It was first published in issue no. 217 (1932-12-04) of Dian sheng ri bao, on page 2. Fu nu ri bao set itself apart from the other sections of Dian sheng ri bao: It did get counted by its “own” independent issue numbers, beginning with an “inaugural issue” (chuang kan hao 創刊號). It was not edited by Liang Xinxi 梁心璽, the editor of Dian sheng ri bao, but by staff of the magazine Ling long 玲瓏 (“Ling long fu nu za zhi bian 玲瓏婦女雜誌編”, cf. issue no. 217 (1932-12-04) on page 2). And its layout differs from the layout of the other sections of Dian sheng ri bao: For the other three sections, the section title, e.g. “Wu xian dian”, is written in a stylized, angular script, and appears with background illustrations that give a modern, futuristic feel. Fu nu ri bao’s section title, though, is identical in style to its second mother publication Ling long’s. Later, it appears that Fu nu ri bao became a somewhat independent publication: An advertisement in Ling long focuses on Fu nu ri bao alone, without any mention of its connection to either Dian sheng ri bao or Ling long (cf. advertisement on page 12 of issue no. 117 of Ling long 玲瓏, published on October 25, 1933). However, the publishing address given in the advertisement is still identical to Ling long's and Dian sheng ri bao's (上海南京路五十六號 Shanghai, Nanjing road 56). (Lena Hessel, June 25, 2019)
